Geneglace
The performance of Geneglace ice makers is second to none. A performance selection program is available which enables you to assess the actual capacity which you can expect from your ice maker under your specific operating conditions. For example, the program will show the impact on the ice production if you pre-cool the water, lower the evaporating temperature or select another refrigerant. In fact, Geneglace is the only manufacturer of ice flakers providing capacity curves for low temperature refrigerants such as R504A, R507, R717, R22.

Flake ice generator by GEA Geneglace At the heart of each Geneglace flake ice machine is a stationary evaporator from which the ice is harvested by a unique helical reamer that does not need sharpening. So, there are no sealed bearings and wear and tear on parts is minimal. The helical reamer driven by a motor is sweeping the surface while rotating (orbital movement). It causes the ice to crack, break off and drop. In the area where the ice is harvested, the water does not flow, ensuring that ice produced is completely moisture free. The corrosion proof evaporating surface, made of a chromium impregnated steel with high thermal conductivity, produces more ice per ton of refrigeration than any stainless steel ice maker.
A pump carries the water from the base to the upper water tray. Water is running continuously on the cold surface where it is frozen. The refrigerant (NH3 or Freon) evaporates inside the double wall and freezes the water.
GEA Grasso Philippines can also supply:
- Ice-packs (packaged units). Ready for connection to water and power supply. The ice-packs provide increased production capacities thanks to the optimum combination of the ice generator with a suitable condensing unit (air cooled or water cooled). The ice-packs are designed for an easy on-site installation!
- For the commercial application we introduce our dual-pack. It simply can be switched between flake ice and mini-flake by means of a switch (speed variator).
Flake ice = speed decreases, salt is added to generate large and thick flakes Mini flake = speed increases to generate smaller and thinner ice (no salt is required in this operation mode); production increases.
- Ice packs for operation with sea water
- on-board models (designed for marine applications and for operation with both fresh and sea water)
- orbital silos (storage bins with automated ice delivery, the first ice produced is the first ice delivered, FIFO)
- pneumatic ice conveyors (made to blow and convey flake ice over long distances)
- combis (come with an ice pack and is an elegant ice bin styled by a French designer)
- ice compactors (transform flake ice into block ice)
- granular ice pack (compared to flake ice, it is fine particle and absorbs water, so ice is easy to stick together; production capacity 250 kg - 1200 kg in 24 hours)
- liquid ice pack (production capacity 3300 liter - 6000 liter in 24 hours)
